POST 35 TO HONOR WOMEN VETS THIS VETERAN’S DAY IN
A “SALUTE TO WOMEN VETERANS”

Hundreds of thousands of our Veterans in our country are women. Women have
served our country with honor and distinction since the birth of our country. This year
on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2004 Post 35 will honor all Women Veterans with a “SALUTE TO WOMEN VETERANS”. Post 35 will make history by having our FIRST EVER Women Veteran as our GUEST SPEAKER. The Hampton’s Post 35 is proud and honored to have NAVY Veteran CAPTAIN HELEN KRANZ who served 30 years in the Navy, including overseas duty during the Vietnam War when she was stationed in Subic Bay in the Republic of the Philippines. Her husband Butch Kranz is a Marine Corps/National Guard Veteran who served in Vietnam. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Helen has been very active in Supporting Our Troops in the past few years by helping organize several support groups throughout the Seacoast. Captain Kranz is also a Registered Nurse in her civilian life as well as working with Adult learners trying to get into Nursing School. Please make an Effort to come out and Support your Post and All Veterans this Veterans Day. And Don’t Forget To Thank A Vet!

This month saw the 3rd anniversary of 9/11. It’s hard to believe that 3 years have passed since that terrible day. Remember our banner... “POST 35 REMEMBERS SEPTEMBER 11th”! Put aside your Political views and Let us all
STAND UP AND SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

COMMANDERS CORNER:
 Our Building and Our Veterans
During the last year, those of us who attend the regular monthly meetings have looked at our current building situation and raised a few questions. How can we afford to keep this building and how can we raise money to improve it? Well my fellow Legionnaires that got the ball rolling. Before you knew it a Building Committee was formed and the process of enhancing this wonderful old building started to take place. The Committee: John Barvenik Chairman, Jim Cushman, George Masten, Arnie Plastridge and Brian Chevalier have begun planning ways to improve the building. Through the efforts of these men and their volunteering of their time and knowledge the process has begun. There are plans for Fund-raisers and other means to raise money for the Post. We all agree that the survival of our Post is based on New Members. We need to find and get the Vets who live in our community to join forces with us. We also agreed that we need a home for all Vets to be able to come to and feel comfortable. I am pleased to say that We are working towards this goal and it’s because of the volunteers like these men.
Support The Troops and God Bless America!

POST 35 TO HONOR WWII VETS THIS MEMORIAL DAY
AS WELL AS WAR ON TERRORISM VETS.

Hundreds of thousands of our World War II Veterans will gather in our nation’s capital this Memorial Day as a grateful nation pays homage to the WWII generation. The unveiling of the long awaited World War Two Memorial will host Veterans from all over the country. Post 35 will honor our members here on the Seacoast as well. Several WWII members of Post 35 will make the long trek to Washington DC to partake in the festivities. Among them are: Ken Buell, Ted Kopanski, John McInnis and Ansell Palmer. It has been said that the WWII generation was the last great generation of our Nation. It seems to be a long overdue fitting tribute to these true American heroes. Meanwhile, our nation’s newest generation of Veteran’s, the War on Terrorism Vets will be equally honored here on the seacoast this Memorial Day as we pay respect and honor to our nation’s fallen heroes. We ask that all citizens come out this Memorial Day to pay the respect that these fallen heroes deserve. No matter what political party you belong to, we need to come together on this sacred day and honor the brave Americans who gave their lives for Freedom, and to once again, acknowledge those who are in harms way. Our fight against Terrorism is ongoing and the troops need our support. There are several families from the Seacoast who have loved ones overseas. Remember our battle cry “POST 35 REMEMBERS SEPTEMBER 11th”. Let us all STAND UP AND SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! These brave young men and women. They’ve earned it.

 Welcome to Post 35.com
This website was created and launched on
November 11th, 2002.

The symbolic launching the site on Veteran's Day is because of the strong Veteran's Community here on the Seacoast. The website is dedicated to the late Maurice Brown, the best Post Historian we've ever had. Maurice passed away this past August. He knew this site was coming and was looking forward to seeing it. Now, it seems it is only fitting that we dedicate it in his memory. This site is for you Maurice.

The website will be another way to communicate with the members. Much like that of the newsletter, the website will be a valuable tool to all the members who have computers
and enjoy this type of activity. We will post information such as schedule events such
as monthy meetings to annual dinners and other points of interests for post members.

We encourage any and all feedback, and welcome anyone wanting to contribute to this site. After all, it is your site Legionaires. Please feel free to get involved.
Again, the site is in the infant stages as we have only begun to scratch the surface of
what will surely become a fun way to stay in touch with your Post.

Thank you and God Bless America!
